nope,, this isn't the whole painting, just a part of it. I hate this painting, except for the king. this was about the time that Daniel sent me to Todd Lockwood to learn the "basics" in Design, and this painting as a whole is a damn fine example of how not to do a painting. I had gotten so us to doing those romance covers, with just 2 figures and hardly no background, that when i went to do a "full" painting, i failed miserbly. lol.
You know, it's funny. I remember when you painted this, and I thought that it was incredible. If you think that it's a failure, I realize that I must have a ton left to learn! LOL I thought it was very eye-catching and looked great as a cover even with the cropping.
You know what we were talking about on your post, about never being happy with what were doing. This is a perfect exsample. When i got done with it,, i thought i had done good, but Daniel sends me to Todd at this point, so that Todd can teach me some very simple basic's i didn't know, because of being self taught. Once my eyes were opened,, i remenber looking at this one and thinking, oh man, thats horrible., and i felt like i had really let daniel down. But i the paintings from here on,, i never looked backed. Todd was amazed at how quick i grasped the things he was teaching me. this is also when i realized that if you want to play with the big boys,, theres a hell of a lot to learn. When publishers are paying you 1000's of bucks to turn out a painting, they want there moneys worth.

Now that got my attention. First, you saying he is sexy. What is it about him that makes you think that? I'm thrilled that you think so, i have been working on that when i do men, but your the first woman to say that about any of the men i have painted. An by all means, feel free to draw a ebony princess waiting on him,, that would be cool.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
